Beach Outing Report By Mick Withford
LONG REEF BEACH
Sunday 24 Nov 2024 2-7pm.
A sunny afternoon, extremely hot 34 deg in the Hills, but pleasantly only 25 deg some 45mins away at the beach.
13 members attended this event, not everyone fishing as some came for support and to enjoy the scenery.
Most caught a fish or two, but it was a bit poor as the peak beach season is late January thru to mid April when the water temp is at its warmest.
We finished getting fish n chips on our way home.
Mike Markich caught a 330mm Bream. Dianne got 275mm bream, 315mm bream, and 325mm silver trevally. Cameron got 390mm Australian salmon. The family also got 3 dart, 1 whiting and 1 stingray.
Peter Bylsma caught & released 2 small Whiting.
Stephen and Lynne Boots once again set up their fancy rod stand and beach tent as tradition, with Lynne enjoying a sleep while Stephen was constantly tending his fishing gear, and caught a stingray.
Mick Withford caught & released 2 small Whiting 270 and 260mm.
Fantastic to see new member John Barnsley enjoying the experience with his kids Brandon, Lucy and Cooper.
Tom Connolly and Tony Muscat made the effort to join us with their friendly moral support.
